Seymour Johnson Air Force Base officials will not cancel the first day of the Wings Over Wayne Air Show and Open House due to the threat of severe thunderstorms, but should the rain start falling, acts will likely be kept out of the skies.
A member of the 4th Fighter Wing Public Affairs team confirmed this morning that weather could create problems during Day One of the show.
But instead of making decisions before the sun comes up Saturday, officials will only call off flying if they must -- if a particular act is scheduled to be in the air while storms are unfolding, that act would be canceled and flying would resume once skies clear.
