Reported copper thefts

*A man reported to authorities on Thursday that 30 feet of copper gas lines were cut from gas tanks to bulk barns on his father's property on Van Smith Road in Seven Springs.

*A man on Bryan Pond Lane reported $2,500 of copper wire theft and $2,500 in damage to an air conditioner unit on Friday. The victim stated that an unknown suspect cut the wiring from the A/C unit.

Bomb scare at Southern Wayne

Classes at Southern Wayne High were interrupted for nearly 45 minutes Thursday morning as a the building was evacuated due to a bomb threat. An unknown subject wrote on the bathroom wall of the girls' bathroom "I will blow this school" and "Bomb Threat." According to a police report several staff members conducted a search throughout the school. No bomb material was located. Authorities have not identified a suspect at this time.

Gasoline drive-offs

The following incidents were reported this past weekend as individuals fueled up and drove off without paying.

*$39.19 was stolen from The Murphy Express on N.C. 581 North on Friday.

*$48.76 was stolen from The Murphy Express on N.C. 581 North on Friday.

*$78.00 was stolen from Wilco Hess on N.C. 117 South on Friday

*$47.42 was stolen from Wilco Hess on East Ash Street on Saturday.

*$20.01 was stolen from Wilco Hess on East New Hope Drive on Saturday.

Home invasion

A home on Daisy Street was the scene of a home invasion around 3:30 a.m. A police reports states that a 42-year-old man was sitting in his living room watching television when an unknown masked subject kicked in his front door. The victim stated that the man held a semi-automatic handgun to his head and demanded money. The report states the man handed over $340 of rent money he had in his pocket.

The suspect took the money and fled.

The man said after the man left he woke up his brother in the next room. The brother told police that if he had been awake his brother wouldn't have gotten robbed.
