Lee-Jackson banquet

Area Civil War history groups will sponsor a Lee and Jackson Banquet on Saturday, Jan. 22.
The Goldsboro Rifles and the Dr. B. T. Person and the Smithfield Light Infantry camps of the Sons of Confederate Veterans are holding the annual event at 6 p.m. at King's Restaurant on U.S. 70 East.
The guest speaker for the event will be Billy Yeargin, a professor of southern culture at Duke University.
Entertainment will be provided by Worth Mason and the Carteret Grays.
An accurate head count is needed by organizers as soon as possible. Cost is $15. For reservations, send checks payable to Allen Aycock at 1128 Aycock Dairy Road, Fremont NC 27830 by Jan. 18.
