Excessive accidents
The city has an average of five vehicular accidents a day, said Sgt. Foster of the Goldsboro Police Department.
Which makes the 17 accidents, all of which occurred on Dec. 17, an unfortunate oddity.
While Foster said it is difficult to explain how the average rate of accidents would nearly quadruple on a given day, he attributed part of the rate increase to heavy holiday traffic.
Foster's advice to stay safe on the road during the holiday season was to "pay attention and be careful while on the road."
