Civil War living history set to be at Mount Olive museum Saturday

MOUNT OLIVE -- The Mount Olive Area Historical Society will sponsor its third annual Civil War living history program on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the David John Aaron History Museum, 137 E. Main St.

Some of the events that will include speakers, demonstrations, working blacksmith and a raffle. Period music will be played as well.

Two lectures are being planned and will be held inside the museum.

Bobby Mozingo will speak on "Brown Water (Confederate) Sailors" at 1 p.m. and Gordon Houston will speak on "Confederate Weapons" at 2 p.m.

The talks will last about 30 to 45 minutes.

The event is free and open to the public and the museum will be open for tours.
