LAGRANGE -- The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office has released video surveillance of Bojangles in LaGrange to help it identify a murder suspect from a June shooting.
Kenneth Leefe, the manager of the Bojangles restaurant on U.S. 70 in LaGrange, was found shot to death on June 25. More than two months later, the Sheriff's Office has yet to identify the suspect.
The person in the video is believed to be responsible for the shooting death of Leefe, according to Major Chris Hill. The vehicle the person is driving is a dark, 2000-03 model Mazda 626. The video was captured by a video surveillance camera at a business near Bojangles.
Hill added that it's possible the car in the video does not belong to the suspect and could be borrowed from someone else.
Lenoir County Sheriff Billy Smith said following the June murder that the initial emergency call came in about 11:45 p.m. June 24. A friend of the victim made the call after discovering Leefe in his vehicle in the restaurant parking lot.
The sheriff said responding officers found Leefe slumped over the steering wheel. He said Leefe had been shot at least once but had no further details at the time.
