Three Dudley girls were attacked by two pit bulls Monday afternoon, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Three girls, ages 11, 12 and 15, told Cpl. Kenneth Grice they were walking around the Mobile Circle neighborhood when two pit bulls ran out from a yard and attacked them.
The 12-year-old was bitten "all over both legs," on her buttocks, and her right hand and wrist, Grice said.
The 11-year-old was bit on both her legs and the back of her right thigh and the 15-year-old was bit on her left leg, left buttock and right hand.
All three girls were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, treated and then released.
The owner of the two dogs, Steven Wiggins, 23, also of Mobile Circle, told deputies the dogs did not run from the yard, but the girls entered his yard looking for someone and the dogs were defending his property.
Wayne County Animal Control now has custody of the dogs. No one has been charged in the incident.
