Red Cross promo winner announced

Angelia Gray of Mount Olive has won a $1,000 gift card in the American Red Cross' Cruise Into Summer promotion, which was held April through June.
Ms. Gray has been a blood donor for more than 30 years. She was entered into the contest after giving blood at Mount Olive Family Medicine Center. She had retired from the United States Army and the National Guard, where she served more than 27 years, including two years in Iraq. She is employed with the North Carolina Department of Corrections in Goldsboro.
Donating blood has been a part of Ms. Gray's life since she gave her first pint as a senior in high school. She even passed that passion onto her son, who now donates regularly, too.
"I live by the notion that even if I cannot always donate money to help others, I can do a lot of good by donating blood," she said. "It is quick, easy, very rewarding an always the right thing to do, and both my husband and son are always so supportive of my desire and dedication to give to the Red Cross."
Mount Olive Family Medicine Center is a longtime sponsor of Red Cross blood drives.
