Death investigation
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 65-year-old Pikeville resident, according to a report. June Carole Campbell, of 176 Mount Carmel Church Road, was found dead at her residence by a neighbor around 7 p.m. on Tuesday night, according to the report. The report shows that Campbell suffered "other major" injuries, but does not provide further detail on the death.
Home invasion
Two people reported a break-in at a Big Daddy's Road residence around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report. Lauren Gill, 26, and Jose Enriquez, 30, reported minor injury after being assaulted by a man carrying a .380-caliber handgun, according to the report. Nothing was reported stolen, the report shows.
