Dillard/GHS alumni will hold reunion over weekend

Graduates of Dillard High School and Goldsboro High School will be celebrating their annual homecoming and class reunions Thursday through Sunday, an event organized by Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni and Friends.
This year's theme is the popular "Old School-New School: Uniting for the Future" Part II.
The activities include a golf tournament Friday, an alumni parade, picnic and dance Saturday and a gospel concert Sunday, among many other events.
There will also be special guest visitors from the Hubbard Alumni from Forsyth County Schools in Georgia.
Patricia Burden, member of the class of 1965, is presiding over the scholarship portion of the program.
"It's an opportunity for people to really give back to their community. That's the main purpose," she said. "It's also the opportunity to reunite with friends, friends that you may not see for a year or many years. You get the chance to catch up and share."
Last year the group gave away $85,000 in scholarships funds to Goldsboro High School students and children of alumni.
