County to collect hazardous waste

DUDLEY -- Wayne County will be hold a Hazardous Waste Collection Day Saturday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wayne County Landfill.
It is free for Wayne County residents.
The materials may include cleaner, paint thinner or other household hazardous materials such as: pesticides, brake fluid, solvents, rat poison, kitchen cleaners, powder cleansers, batteries, gasoline, degreasers, lacquer, pool chemicals, kerosene, mothballs, bathroom cleaners, wood preservative, spray cans, metal polish, spot removers, paint/paint thinner, oven cleaners, nail polish remover, paint stripper, upholstery cleaners, mercury debris, drain cleaners, antifreeze, furniture polish, tile cleaners, herbicides and motor oil.
The materials should be left in their original containers, but different types of waste should be separated.
If the items are not in original containers and people know what is in them then they should indicate it with a marker or label made of masking tape.
The items may be brought to the Wayne County Landfill, 460-B South Landfill Road, Dudley on Saturday, June 5, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
