Miss Rosewood Pageant Saturday at WCC

The 2010 Miss Rosewood Scholarship Pageant will be held Saturday in the auditorium at Wayne Community College, with the show starting at 7 p.m.
This year, there are nine contestants competing for the title that the current Miss Rosewood Meredith Grantham holds.
The theme of this year's pageant is "Carolina Girls."
There will be special entertainment by Desiree Autrey's Academy of Performing Arts and Rosewood senior Holly Jones.
Admission is $7 at the door, $5 in advance.
* Contestant No. 1 is Jennifer Page. She is the daughter of William and Michele Page. She is a junior and will be playing the guitar while singing "Under My Bed."
* Contestant No. 2 is Beth Stovall. She is the daughter of Dan and Patti Stovall. She is a junior and will be singing "Think of Me" from "Phantom of the Opera."
* Contestant No. 3 is Briona Jackson. She is the daughter of Luby and Angela Jackson. She is a junior and will be performing a lyrical dance to "Angel."
* Contestant No. 4 is Rachael Kornegay. She is the daughter of Michael and Susan Kornegay. She is a junior and will be singing "Second Hand Rose" from the Broadway musical "Funny Girl."
* Contestant No. 5 is Leia Daniels. She is the daughter of Dan and Shannon Daniels. She is a junior and will be worshipping through a lyrical dance to "Beautiful, Beautiful."
* Contestant No. 6 is Angelica Knight. Angelica is the daughter of Angela Joyner. She is a junior and will be playing a piece on the piano.
* Contestant No. 7 is Anna Davis. Anna is the daughter of Mark Davis and Ronnie and Tammy Syverson. She is a senior and will be singing "Inside Your Heaven."
* Contestant No. 8 is Kelly Best. Kelly is the daughter of Kirby and Cathy Best. She is a junior and will be tap dancing to "It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing."
* Contestant No. 9 is Marieke Parrish. Marieke is the daughter of Keith Parrish and Maria Limmen. She is a junior and will be demonstrating the proper techniques, hand position, and stance for properly and successfully serving a tennis ball.
