Mount Olive police arrested three men in connection with the fatal wounding of a Mount Olive man known as "Arturo."

Demario Montrell Leach, 21, and Demontae Antwan Leach, 26, of Mount Olive were arrested Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. and charged with murder. Police arrested Michael Brandon Faison, 20, of Mount Olive at around 9 a.m. this morning. Faison is also charged with murder.

Bond will be determined at the first court appearance, which will likely be this afternoon.

"It was hard work by Maj. (Brian) Rhodes, Sgt. (C.J.) Weaver and Capt. Tommy Brown. They developed some leads early on and started working the case pretty hard," Mount Olive Police Chief Ralph Schroeder said.

Schroeder said investigators are "90 percent sure" they know the identity of the victim, but would not release the name until family members have been contacted. Officials are also waiting to receive the results of an autopsy from the medical examiner's office.

"We're in the process. We're waiting on a couple of things to make sure it is who we think it is," he said.

Rhodes and Schroeder also extended thanks to the Wallace Police Department for its assistance in the case.

The man known as "Arturo" was found on Kelly Street early Monday last week. He was first taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, then transported to Pitt Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries about 15 hours after being found.
