Goldsboro City Council retreats today through Friday

The Goldsboro City Council's annual retreat is scheduled to begin this afternoon at City Hall.
The three-day work session is designed to give the board an opportunity to hear detailed presentations from key members of the city staff -- every department head, the city manager and representatives from the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corp.
Today's agenda is scheduled to include a review of last year's retreat, updates from the police and fire chief and a presentation from leaders of the Stoney Creek Park Alliance.
And the state of downtown -- and particularly the Paramount Theatre and the proposed Recreation Center -- are on tap for Thursday.
