Church 'ransacked'
Goldsboro police say St. Luke United Methodist Church on East Pine Street was reportedly broken into through a side door sometime over the weekend, and at least one office was ransacked. An office door was forced open after the suspects made entry, and a computer mouse worth an estimated $25 was stolen, police said.
Drop cord thefts
Two Wayne County residents said electrical drop cords used for Christmas lights were stolen from their yards over the weekend, authorities said. A Northgold Drive resident said cords worth $30 were taken and a Tommy's Road resident also reported $45 worth of electrical equipment taken. Investigation into the theft continues, authorities said.
