Kinston man charged with making threats at community college

A Kinston man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly threatened to shoot people on campus at Lenoir Community College.
Charles Ray Skinner, 19, was arrested, charged with felony false reporting of a mass violence at an educational facility and placed under $100,000 bond in the Lenoir County Jail.
Witnesses told Kinston police that Skinner had made statements Wednesday about 4 p.m. on campus about coming back to the school and killing people.
Police took Skinner into custody at his home at 3504 Sloan Street in Kinston without incident. A shotgun belonging to his mother was found but no ammunition for the weapon was found.
Investigator said they did not expect to make any more arrests in connection with the case.
