Man shot in arm

A Goldsboro man was shot in the arm around 12:15 p.m. Thursday, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

Rico Donta Sutton, 19, told police two men came to the door at 103 Deer Meadow Drive claiming to be from a cable company looking for illegal cable. According to Sutton, they came into the house, told him to put his hands up and shot him in the arm.

At that point Sutton said the two men noticed his 6-month-old niece in a nearby chair and fled the scene without taking anything. Sutton was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and treated and released, according to hospital officials.

Investigations

Police reported the following investigations:

Ronnie Donnell Butler, 21, of Water Oak Drive, LaGrange reported that two vehicles on the A&A Auto Rental lot on U.S. 70 West had been damaged. Police said the vehicles were damaged by gunfire. Damages totaled $900 to a black Dodge pickup and $1,500 to a green Toyota van.

Joi A. Baker, 42, E. Ash St., told police someone had taken items from her unsecured car. Taken were a makeup kit valued at $50; jump drive valued at $80; a camera valued at $150; and $7 in cash.

Willie Lamont Williams, 36, S. George Street said some one had made $224.74 in fraudulent charges on his bank card.

Damages totaled $500 to the car of Veronica George, 34, Randall Lane, after someone cut the top of her convertible.
