WCC Foundation adds events

Three events have been added to the arts and humanities calendar for the fall at Wayne Community College, WCC Foundation director Jack Kannan announced this week.
A day-trip to Nasher Museum is planned for Oct. 29, leaving the college at 9:30 a.m. Theme will be "Picasso and the Allure of Language Exhibit." Cost is $15 per person plus lunch.
On Wednesday, Nov. 4, a panel discussion is planned for 7 p.m. in Walnut 101. The free event, "Me and My Memoirs," will feature Gene Price, Marianne Gingher and Sandra Reddig.
A musical evening will take place the following week in the Moffatt Auditorium.
"Broadway, Ballads and the Blues" with John Clifton and Tom Casey is planned for Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. Cost is $20 for reserved seating.
Prevously announced events have received popular response, with two trips filled as soon as they were made public.
There are still slots available in two seminars slated for October and November.
Monday evenings in October, Bill Brettmann, director of the arts and humanities program, will lecture on "The Long Hot Summer of 1787: Making the Constitution." Sessions will be held in Room 101 of the Walnut Building, starting at 7 p.m.
Cost is $20 per person, $35 per couple. An accompanying book is also recommended, "The Constitutional Conven-tion."
Brettman will also lead a four-week class on Monday evenings in November, "Stories Seldom Told: Scholars and the New Testament." Each session begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in Room 101 of the Walnut Building.
Cost is $20 per person, $35 per couple.
