As tonight's weather forecast points to rain, organizers of the Blue Ribbon Jam -- a fundraiser put together for the families of Capt. Mark McDowell and Capt. Thomas Gramith -- have decided to reschedule the event for Oct. 1.
The decision was made by Downtown Goldsboro Development Corp. and Goldsboro News-Argus staff to ensure the biggest possible turnout for the benefit concert.
No additional changes to the event have been made. The Mighty Saints of Soul will still provide the entertainment and all proceeds from the jam will still go to the Blue Ribbon Fund, a coffer that has seen more than $20,000 in donations come in since the July 17 F-15E Strike Eagle crash in Afghanistan that claimed the lives of the two Seymour Johnson Air Force Base captains.
