The Wayne Occupational Readiness Keys for Success (WORKS) program will offer several opportunities this month for the public to take the WorkKeys(r) tests for Career Readiness Certification, an assessment that shows prospective employers that applicants possess skills they require.

Computer-based testing sessions will start at 12:30 p.m. June 29 and at 8:30 a.m. June 30 in Room 216A of the Wayne Learning Center on Wayne Community College's main campus in Goldsboro. A pencil-and-paper version will be offered at 5 p.m. on June 22 in Room 218 of the same building.

Pre-registration is required by noon on the test dates by calling 735-5151, ext. 729 or 398. Inquire about cost when pre-registering; financial assistance may be available. Test-takers must be at least 18 years old and must bring photo identification, proof of age and Social Security number to the test.

Individuals may earn three levels of Career Readiness Certificates (Bronze, Silver or Gold) based on their performance on three WorkKeys(r) tests: applied mathematics, locating information and reading for information. Certificates are awarded by the State of North Carolina through the community college
