Suspicious fire
A fire at 207 Arrowhead Lane in Dudley is under investigation as a suspicious fire, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said. Arson investigators arrived at the scene just after midnight on Tuesday, at the home owned by Edgar Barfield of Durham Lake Road, authorities said. Barfield said he was moving out of the residence, and had last been there at 4:15 p.m., hours before the midnight fire, according to the report.
Car wash vandals
Mark Cunningham, owner of the Hurry Clean Car Wash on Parkway Drive, reported Monday that a part of the car wash had been burned, melting a $200 part, according to a police report. Police also documented $400 in damages to electrical cable, and the owner said the cable had been pulled loose. A sign was also spray-painted, according to the report.
Armed robbery
Justin Steers, 17, of Courtney Road said he was robbed by a person he knows after the subject pulled a handgun on him. The suspect was not described in the officer's report. Steers said the suspect attempted, but failed, to take his watch from him.
