Two schools broken into

Dillard Middle School custodian Janice Sumlin and cafeteria manager Carolyn Raynor reported Monday morning that eight windows at the school had been damaged, according to Goldsboro police reports. There were also damages to at least five classroom doors, mostly in the "B" section of the school, according to the report. The rooms were described as "ransacked" by police. Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 735-2255.

A few hours later, Goldsboro Intermediate School's Nicole Barrett reported that two windows, two doors and a snack machine had been damaged at the school. The snack machine sustained $500 in damages and $200 worth of snack items were stolen, according to the police report.

Landlord seeks back rent

A civil filing in Wayne County Superior Court alleges that Wing Zone, a North Berkeley Boulevard restaurant that has already stopped serving customers, owes nearly $30,000 in back rent payments for the building. A complaint for eviction filed by Goldsboro attorney Henry Smith alleges that Wing Zone and its parent corporation Performance Admin, LLC, of Fayetteville, had not paid the last eight months of rent. The landlord is Robert Brent King, of Cornerstone Properties, according to court records. With taxes, insurance, cleanup payments and missed payments for a dumpster, Performance Admin owes $28,118, according to court records.
