Armed robbery

Fredrick Sykes of Mimosa Street reported Tuesday that two black men robbed him at gunpoint near the intersection of Walnut and Andrews Street that afternoon, police said. Sykes reported the men drove up in a silver-colored mid-1990s Chevy Blazer and told him to surrender his property.

One suspect is described as black, in his early 20s, about 6 feet 3 inches tall with a medium build, weighing about 145 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and carrying a black .45-caliber handgun. The second suspect is described as black, in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall, about 160 pounds wearing blue jeans, a green-and-yellow wind breaker. The suspects reportedly left on foot. Vandalism

Teresa Joyner of Brentwood Drive, Dudley, reported that she and others in the residence were sleeping early Wednesday morning when they were awoken by a loud sound. Ms. Joyner found that bricks had been thrown through two windows, causing about $200 in damages. Ms. Joyner is the next-door neighbor of a family of women who have been targeted by arson twice in the past few weeks.
