SEVEN SPRINGS -- The town of Seven Springs has a Web site.
Mayor Steve Potter created the Web site at www.sevenspringsnc.org, and the town board voted last Wednesday to make it the town's official website.
Now, Potter said, the community can find out what's going on at Spring Creek High School and Elementary School as well as Seven Springs Methodist Church on the hill, Seven Springs Baptist just a half-mile down NC 55 and at St. Rest Holiness Church in the village.
And he has future plans for the Web site, like a restaurant page, an area merchant page, a town board page and a page dedicated to updated plans for the Ole Timey Days Festival scheduled for May 9 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
"It's a work in progress. I'm just proud we have one now. We have needed it a long time," the mayor said.
The page already has plenty of information, including a weather report.
Potter said creating the Web site was a lot easier than he thought it was going to be.
"I know just enough about computers to make a mess," he said. "But this was easy..... This represents another step up for us. We may actually arrive at the 21st Century."
