Goldsboro Fire Department responds to house fire Friday; no injuries reported

On Friday, the Goldsboro Fire Department responded to a house fire at about 6 p.m.

The fire was at 122 Woods Mill Road in the Hunters Creek subdivision.

Captain Patterson, Shift Commander for C Shift, said that when units arrived on the scene they reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the back side of the house.

He explained that while the fire was contained to one bedroom, there was smoke damage throughout the house, which was not being lived in at the time.

However it was valued at $240,000 with an estimated damage cost of $55,000.

It is owned by Mr. Kerry D'Hemecourt. The cause of the fire was undetermined.

Units were on the scene for nearly two hours.
