Shot in leg
Rakeem Howell of Devereaux Street was riding his moped in the parking lot of a South Slocumb Street grocery store when someone fired a single shot at him, striking him in the right knee, Goldsboro police said. Howell retreated to another home where the incident was reported, according to the report. Howell said he saw a male subject wearing a ski mask and all black clothing running west on Wilmington Avenue after hearing the shot. Howell told police the male was carrying a large shotgun, according to the report.
Armed robbery
Lequan Battle, 21, of East Holly Street, reported he was robbed of a cell phone at gunpoint outside his home on Monday morning, Goldsboro police said. Battle told police that multiple suspects confronted him, but the police report did not say how many or provide a description. The only information Battle provided to police was that one of the suspects had a silver revolver, according to the report.
Cigarette theft
A clerk at Comco on North Berkeley Boulevard reported Sunday morning that someone had broken through a window and stolen 17 cartons of cigarettes, valued at around $600, according to police.
