Cold Stone Creamery closes its doors

Residents may have eaten their last scoop of Cold Stone Creamery ice cream -- at least while sitting in Goldsboro.
The eatery's location in Berkeley Commons has closed for an undetermined amount of time.
A sign on the door says that the creamery has "temporarily closed" and shows contact information for anyone interested in purchasing the franchise -- "serious inquiries only."
Phone calls were placed to Kahala Corp., the corporation that owns Cold Stone, and to the telephone number listed on the door for interests in purchasing the franchise. Neither parties returned calls before press time.
Those people who want to redeem gift cards for the creamery must go to the Smithfield or Greenville locations, the sign said, and for pickup of pre-paid pies, you must take a voucher to the Boys and Girls Club on Royall Avenue Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
