Operation Transition collecting winter clothes

Operation Transition is collecting winter apparel and blankets to give those in need. This is the organization's first coat drive in Goldsboro.
Collections will run from Dec. 1 until Dec. 12, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at J.J. Ashley Bakery & Gourmet Foods at 2914 U.S. 70 West (near Wal-Mart) and at the Herman Park Recreation Center Lobby at 901 E. Ash St.
Coats will be distributed on Dec. 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m.

Donations are tax deductible and tax receipts are available at the drop-off sites.
Among the items needed are new and gently used coats (all sizes), hats, gloves, sweaters, blankets, boots and shoes.
