Author Patti O'Donoghue of Dudley will hold a book signing Thursday during Mount Olive's annual Holiday Open House in the downtown area.

Mrs. O'Donoghue will be available to personally autograph her books from 4-8 p.m. at Especially for You Gift Shop, 109 N. Center St.

The books of The Stanhope Trilogy include "Celia," "Where America's Day Begins" and "The Wreck." They follow the adventures and misadventures of eastern North Carolina girls, Celia Stanhope and Goldie O'Brien. The girls leave fictional Sandy Run, N.C., to find a shipwreck and treasure in the western Pacific Islands of Guam and Rota. Their money runs out and Celia ends up on the streets as a homeless woman.

The books are available locally at Especially For You Gift Shop, in Mount Olive, the Wayne County Museum, 116 N. William St., Goldsboro, and from the author at author@stanhopetrilogy.com.

Ms. O'Donoghue, who formerly served as president of the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce, is available to speak to school, library, and civic groups.
