Scammers may target Hispanics
Bobby Purnell of Morgan Circle, Dudley reported that a white male in his mid 20s knocked at his door and asked for contributions for the "fire department," but not specifying which department, according to a report. The suspect asked a number of times to come inside, and asked Purnell if he spoke English after already having spoken to him. Police have some reason to believe the subjects may be targeting Hispanics by seeking fraudulent cash "donations." The suspect is described as a white male with a medium build, dark hair, about 170 pounds, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a red T-shirt with some sort of "yellow fire design" on it, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
Thieves leave vehicle immobile
Thieves allegedly took not just the tires but the rims from Pamela Spencer's vehicle while parked at her home on Country Lane, leaving the vehicle's underbody flat on the ground, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report. The rims and tires are worth more than $3,500, the Sheriff's Office report shows.
Deer jumps through window
Bobby Long of Ridgecrest Drive said he watched a deer attempt to jump through his garage door on Sunday morning, incurring about $500 in damages to a small window and to the garage door frame, police said.
Home shot into
Johnny Lee of Hope Boulevard, Dudley reported on Saturday that his home was shot that afternoon, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report. An outside window and its frame and a couch inside the home were damaged, according to the Sheriff's Office report.
