Fair not opening Thursday

Officials at the Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair have decided to not open the gates Thursday, closing the midway and the exhibits because of the inclement weather. The Open Junior Meat Goat Show will go on as scheduled at 6 p.m., but has been moved indoors.
Thursday was supposed to be the first day of the 2008 fair. Instead, the fairgrounds will open on Friday at 4 p.m., with events planned as scheduled and the rides on a weather-permitting basis.
