Demolition of Days Inn in progress

Jose Bustos of A & K Grading of LaGrange uses an excavator to start knocking down the Days Inn on Wayne Memorial Drive early this morning. The motel was destroyed almost a year ago during a severe windstorm. Efforts to raze it have been hampered by the need to remove asbestos. Officials expect the demolition and removal of debris to take about a month to complete.
