Open houses will be held for the two non-traditional public high schools in Wayne County next week.
Wayne Early/Middle College High School will hold its open on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wayne Community College. The other will be held at the Wayne School of Engineering, housed at Goldsboro High School, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Officials at both schools are encouraging parents and students to attend.
"A general information session will kick off the event in the auditorium," said Lee Johnson, principal at Wayne Early/Middle. "Afterwards, students and their parents can meet teachers, visit classrooms, pick up bus assignments and collect high school and college schedules."
"Open house is an opportunity for families to meet and greet teachers, tour the facilities, ask questions, and learn more about how our innovative programs and curriculum will help prepare students for college, work-force, and the global challenges of the 21st Century," said Gary Hales, principal of Wayne School of Engineering.
Parking at the School of Engineering will be in the lot on Herman Street, adjacent to the GHS gymnasium.
