*Charlotte-based HMBI was the victim of air conditioner theft at a Springbank Road home, police said. Thieves absconded with a $4,000 cooling unit, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report.
*Thieves reportedly took around 100 feet of copper ground wire from a Mount Olive-area cell tower on U.S. 13 South, a Sheriff's Office report shows. The tower, owned by American Towers of Hammond Road, Raleigh, was inspected by a Verizon Wireless employee who documented $600 total damages to a fence and a flood light on Tuesday, the report shows.
*Meleah Parrish of Misty Lane reported a laptop computer stolen from her residence, county authorities said.
