Dillard Homecoming schedule set

Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni and Friends will celebrate its 53rd annual homecoming this weekend with a western theme.
Alumni from across the country will gather in Goldsboro, with classes whose graduation years end in threes and eights holding reunions.
"A Western Roundup" is the event's theme.
Events kick off on Thursday evening with the scholarship and awards program at Goldsboro High School. To date, alumni have awarded more than $500,000 to deserving students to continue their education.
Friday evening's gala will be a banquet honoring "Unsung Heroes," members who work for the organization behind the scenes.
Saturday's highlights include the annual alumni parade in downtown Goldsboro, starting at 10 a.m.. The Hubbard Alumni from Forsyth, Georgia and other alumni associations from Lumberton, N.C. and Sumpter, S.C. are also expected to attend.
While membership and tickets are required for some events, most are also open to the public. Ticket sales begin Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Alumni Cultural Center on Poplar Street, with tickets also available throughout the weekend at area hotels.
