Beer bottle assault
While attempting to use the bathroom at Camron's Club House, Wednesday night, Steven Wayne Wiggins Jr., 21, was reportedly hit in the face with a beer bottle by a man that he knows, according to a police report. Wiggins was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital by a friend, the police report shows.
Armed robberies
*Marshall Lewis, 24, of Raleigh was reportedly robbed of $75 and a cell phone in the 300 block of Hollowell Street early Thursday morning, police said. The suspect was described as a black male in a white shirt, armed with a pistol and driving a white, four-door sedan, police said.
*Jeffrey Sanchez, 22, of Wilson Street was reportedly robbed at gunpoint of a scooter that was later recovered by police in a way not detailed in the police report. Sanchez said he had given the male suspect a ride on the scooter. The male was described as about 20 years old, a black male with a slim build weighing about 145 pounds. The suspect reportedly wore a short hairstyle, a black shirt, blue jeans and was armed with a handgun, police said.
Woman shot in leg
Brenda Mullins of North Virginia Street was reportedly shot in the leg around 5 a.m. Thursday while staying at her other residence on East Walnut Street, according to a police report. Ms. Mullins reported seeing a white vehicle, the report shows.
