Robber strikes two more stores

A sawed-off shotgun-toting robber threatened two more clerks on Wednesday night, again taking cigarettes and cash, according to police reports.
A man who matches that description closely is also suspected in four more robberies in Wayne County and two in the city.
One more in each jurisdiction took place Wednesday.
Wayne County Sheriff's Capt. Tom Effler said it sounds like the suspect may have wheels.
"I'm thinking that he's got a vehicle that he's moving around the county now,"

Effler said. "We're still wanting anybody with information."
Effler was careful to note that police are not totally sure every robbery was committed by the same man, although descriptions from the robberies match closely.
Goldsboro Police Sgt. Chad Calloway said that he had not talked to investigator Dwayne Dean, who is assigned to the case and responded to a robbery on Thursday night.
According to reports, the first armed theft came in the city of Goldsboro, at 9:41 p.m.
The report shows an unknown suspect robbed Pantry No. 924 on North Spence Avenue.
An undetermined amount of U.S. currency was taken, and a black male about 5 feet 5 inches with a slim build was the reported suspect.
The 54-year-old male clerk from Dudley said the robber wore a black shirt, had a black hat and a red bandana, along with a shotgun.
The second robbery took place at Friendly Mart No. 14 on U.S. 13 South, according to Sheriff's reports.
In that robbery, like previous others, the clerk reported a black male with a camouflage-style jacket and a sawed-off shotgun.
Accounts of the robber's clothing slightly differed between the reports from the two jurisdictions.
Wayne County Sheriff Carey Winders said it was important to identify whoever is robbing county stores.
The sheriff noted that any person committing robbery with a weapon, especially repeatedly, creates a potential for violence.
"We've got to catch this guy. He's going to wind up killing himself or somebody else," Winders said Thursday morning.
