MOC awards cash for fall semester

MOUNT OLIVE -- Several area residents have been awarded scholarships to attend Mount Olive College in the fall.
Eric Williams of Goldsboro and Tyler Johnston and David Cooper, both of Mount Olive, have each received $3,000 Leaders Scholarships, while a $4,000 merit scholarship has been awarded to Jessica Pineda of Mount Olive.
The scholarships are based on grades, SAT or ACT scores and are renewable annually. The Leaders Scholarship is also based on demonstrated leadership potential and requires recipients to completes a leadership program.
Williams, the son of Dean and MaryBeth Williams, is a senior at Wayne Christian High School and attends Stoney Creek FWB Church. He plans to pursue a degree in business/sports management.
Johnston, son of Curtis and Kimberly Johnston, is a senior at Southern Wayne High School and attends Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Cooper, son of Ken and Janet Cooper, is a transfer student from the University of Lethbridge. A senior at Mount Olive College, he is pursing a degree in biology.
Miss Pineda, daughter of Cipriano and Leticia Pineda, is a senior at Southern Wayne High School and attends Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. She plans to pursue a degree in business administration.
