'Oklahoma!' at Paramount this week

Stagestruck Children's Theatre will be presenting Rogers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!" at the Paramount Theatre on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
It will be the first production held in the newly rebuilt Paramount on Center Street.
The shows will be held at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Tickets can be purchased now at the Arts Council and also at the door. Prices are $10 for students and $12 for adults.
Auditions for this Premiere Show began in December 2007 and 77 children were cast in the show and began rehearsals in early January in a temporary studio on James Street. The cast have rehearsed daily for months.
The musical features a number of classic songs: "Oh What a Beautiful Morning," "People Will Say We're In Love," and the beloved standby "Oklahoma."
Meanwhile, construction on a new Stagestruck building located directly behind the theater is underway, with plans to move in in late spring or early summer. Donations to help with the cost are still being accepted.
The production team for the play includes: Brenda Baldwin and Caroline Bell as producers, Russell Vacanti as artistic director, Beth Bouchard as assistant director, Angela Santucci and Karen Patzer as co-music directors, Tom Vacanti as choreographer, Joan Stafford as stage manager, Pat Biggers and Tammy Lee as costume designers and Jason Sharpe as technical director and lighting design as Jason Sharpe and Russell Vacanti.
