The Wayne County Public Library announced Friday it has received a microfilm reader/scanner.
Library officials say this new technology will give patrons the opportunity to scan, save and print better quality images from microfilm.
By the end of the year, they say the machine may also offer remote access.
Also, the machine will be used as part of a digitization program.
The microfilm machine was made possible through funding from Old Dobbs Genealogical Society, the main contributor. The library also received grants and donations from the Friends of the Library and Wal-Mart.
