MOUNT OLIVE -- Dr. C. M. "Mike" Williams will be the guest lecturer at Mount Olive College's 16th Annual Lorelle F. Martin Lecture on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. at Raper Hall.

The theme for the lecture is "The Future of Animal Production Agriculture: Chickens, Pigs, Politics and Science."

The free event is sponsored by the college's Department of Science and Mathematics and the Lois G. Britt Agribusiness Center.

Dr. Williams is coordinator of Waste Management Programs in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at North Carolina State University. He directs the NCSU Animal and Poultry Waste Management Center and serves as the undergraduate teaching coordinator in the Department of Poultry Science.

The Martin Lecture was established at the college in 1993 by Dr. E. Lee Glover of Everett, Pa., as an annual tribute to his former teacher, Lorelle Martin, who served for 30 years as chairman of the Department of Science and Mathematics at Mount Olive College before retiring in 1987.
