Mallory Peacock, left, and her father, John, pictured near the grave marker of Eliza Dyer, a black nurse/caregiver buried in a white family’s plot at Willow Dale Cemetery. Ms. Peacock, a senior at Charles B. Aycock High School, is soliciting stories and pictures of others buried there for a Girl Scout Gold Award project. Upon completion of a scrapbook, it will be on display at Wayne County Public Library.
