Duplin Agribusiness Council meeting

KENANSVILLE -- The annual membership meeting of the Duplin County Agribusiness Council will be held Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Duplin County Agriculture Service Center across from James Sprunt Community College.
The guest speaker for the annual meeting will be Blake Brown, the Hugh C. Kiger Professor for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Agriculture at NC State University. Brown will discuss important new agricultural research efforts underway at the university.
Also, attendees will hear a report from the Engineering School at James Kenan High.
The meeting also features the presentation of the Melvin Cording Service to Agriculture Award. This award honors outstanding contributions to agriculture in Duplin County. The winners of the Duplin County corn yield contest will recognized, as well.
Annual membership dues of $20 can be paid at the meeting or mailed using the enclosed self-addressed envelope. To make reservations, please indicate your plans on the enclosed form, or call the Duplin County cooperative Extension Service at (910) 296-2143 before Jan. 29.
