'Most Wanted' list nets tips, prompts 3 arrests

Goldsboro police reported locating three men wanted on felony charges less than 24 hours after their pictures were published in a News-Argus feature on outstanding warrants.
Investigator Dave Cloutier said the first suspect turned himself in Wednesday after seeing his picture in the newspaper.
Anthony Maurice Owens, 33, now of East Hillsboro Street, Mount Olive, was arrested at his home by Mount Olive police on fraud-related charges.
Cloutier phoned Mount Olive police to let them know that Owens had turned himself in, the investigator said.
Owens was charged with nine counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, nine counts of forgery of an instrument and nine counts of uttering a forged instrument, and was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bond, Cloutier said.
Also located was Quinten Moses, 37, who is in custody in Union County, N.J., the investigator said.
In Goldsboro, Moses is charged with failing to appear in court on charges of being a habitual felon and drug charges that include trafficking in cocaine, police said.
Lastly, Jackie Sutton, who has outstanding felony-level warrants for breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods, was found to be serving an active prison sentence.
An Internet site hosted by the N.C. Department of Corrections shows Sutton serving time in the regular population in New Hanover Correctional Center.
Sutton has a projected release date in May of this year on a sentence of one year and three months that began in September last year, the Internet site shows.
Police said the newspaper's outstanding warrant feature triggered a flood of calls about suspects, and police are still tracking some of those leads down.
Two officers with the Warrants Department also urged citizens to remember that people who provide tips that lead to felony-level arrests are eligible for the largest cash awards.
