Soda stolen

Coca-Cola delivery driver Marty Parker said he called police Tuesday when he noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area of his South George Street workplace around noon, Goldsboro police said. About three hours later, Parker reported $150 in various beverages stolen from his truck while parked at the business.

Robbery charge

Investigator Dwayne Bevell said his arrest of Jarvaris Quante Whitted, 17, is the third made in investigating a June 16 robbery at Burger King on Berkeley Boulevard. Whitted was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bond and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, Bevell said.

Shaving cream can assault

A Brazil Street woman faces a misdemeanor charge of assault inflicting serious injury for hitting her boyfriend in the head with a can of shaving cream, police said. Cynthia O'Neal, 47, was jailed with no bond and was scheduled to make a first appearance in court on Wednesday, police said. Police said they observed Ms. O'Neal's boyfriend, Kenneth Lofton, 47, with a bleeding wound on his head.

Break-in arrest

Police said a homeless man is responsible for a break-in at Griffin Steel Company on North William Street. Jimmie Lee Brinson, 46, of Goldsboro, was charged with felonious breaking and entering, felonious larceny and felony-level possession of stolen goods, Investigator Dave Cloutier said. He was jailed in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Thefts

*James Charles Brown of Progress Energy reported that someone cut a fence at the utility's West Grantham Street location and stole 300 feet in copper wire valued at $1,000, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.

*Randy Lee McCullen of McFarms on Pineview Cemetery Road, Seven Springs reported stolen from the business seven radiators worth a total of $210, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.

*Travis Tyler Creech of Spring Bank Road reported $2,305 worth of property stolen from his residence after a break-in.

*Joshua McCoy Powell, 26, Buck Swamp Road, drive while license revoked, fictitious registration, $500 bond.

*Courtney James Tatum, 23, Denmark Street, assault on female, $600 bond.

*Khrystina Renee Tatum, 22, Denmark Street, assault, $600 bond.

*James Edward Bogan, 37, Dogwood Street, flee or elude motor vehicle, speeding, drive while license revoked, $7,500 bond.

*Michael Edward Bowe Jr., 27, Lee Drive, drive while license revoked, $500 bond.

*Kevin Gregory Waters, 27, Kelvin Lane, drive while impaired, speeding, $500 bond.

*Shanta Sade Faison, 18, Fairview Circle, no operator's license, $200 bond.

*Andrez Quijas Marquez, 36, Mexican citizen, drive while impaired, no operator's license, $600 bond.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Department reported these charges:

*Ray L. Pipkins, 21, Ironwood Road, passing worthless check, $300 bond.

*James Eric Phillips, 37, Rockefella Court, assault on a female, no bond.

*Marty Dewayne Grady, 41, Grantham School Road, Mount Olive, seven counts failure to appear, $4,500 bond.

*Dewey Matthews Armwood, 48, Stanley Chapel Church Road, Dudley, speeding, drive while license revoked, $500 bond.

*Edward Todd Garris, 21, Deluxe Drive, harassing phone call, communicating threats, no bond.

*Bradley Thomas Deaver, 20, Rawlings Street, larceny, possess stolen goods, injury to personal property, custody release.

*Mario Abila Lopez, 28, Hazelwood Trail Park, malicious conduct by a prisoner, communicating threats, resist delay or obstruct, $103,600 bond.

*David Wayne Thompson, 26, Karen Circle, assault on a female, written promise.
