Police have identified the victim of a two-car crash on Interstate 795 Monday.
Jimmy Russell Pearson, 73, of Carey Road, Kinston, was killed when a car driven by Marcia Irene Rohde, 47, allegedly ran a stoplight at the intersection of I-795 and N.C. 581., Capt. Grayham Keesler said.
Pearson was pronounced dead on the scene after the 8:45 a.m. crash, Keesler said.
Ms. Rohde was driving a Pontiac Grand Am when she failed to stop and collided with Pearson, whose Lincoln Town Car careened into a ditch off the west side of I-795.
Ms. Rohde was headed north on I-795, Keesler said, colliding with Pearson's vehicle as he headed west on N.C. 581.
