Goldsboro residents reported two armed common law robberies Tuesday, police say.
Joshua Head of U.S. 117 North said he was in a parking lot in the 100 block of North Center Street around 10:35 p.m. Tuesday when approached by a black male he did not know, police reported.
The male -- described as about 6 feet 1 inches tall, about 200 pounds with extensive facial acne scars -- asked for food money, the report states.
The victim pulled out his wallet, and the suspect responded by brandishing a knife and demanding cash, according to the report.
The victim reported he offered the subject some cash and asked him not take all of his money, police said.
A scuffle started by the suspect ensued, which caused several cuts to Head's face, arms and legs, police said.
About $425 in valuables were taken from the victim, police said.
Then, just before 5 a.m. today, Robert Taylor of South Slocumb Street reported he was robbed at the intersection of Mulberry Street and Taylor Street by a suspect who approached in a car.
The car came up behind him, the driver asked him if he needed a ride, then displayed a handgun which the victim reported was pointed down, police said.
The victim reported he kept walking, but the car cut him off. The driver exited the vehicle, searched the victim and stole $300 in cash, police said.
The driver is described as a black male, 25 to 26 years old wearing a red toboggan and a blue coat. A passenger in the car was described as a black male with a muscular build, about 30 years old, 6 foot tall, 160 to 170 pounds with a tattoo on his left arm.
The passenger also wore silver front teeth, police said.
Car stolen
Devon Ward of South Slocumb Street reported Monday that a 1974 Buick parked behind his home was stolen, Goldsboro police said.
