WCC nursing instructor honored

Wayne Community College nursing instructor Patty Pfeiffer was honored recently as one of five instructors who made it to the final round of competition for the N.C. Community College System/R.J. Reynolds Excellence in Teaching Award.

Caralyn House, an instructor at Wake Technical Community College, was the winner. Mrs. Pfeiffer and three other finalists were also recognized with a cash award, plaque and a plaque for their representative schools. The award recognizes community college faculty who exemplify high standards of professionalism.

Mrs. Pfeiffer has been an instructor at WCC since 1994. She is a graduate of the school's associate degree nursing program and also holds a bachelor's degree in nursing and master's degrees in nursing and administration.
