Salvation Army in need of bell ringers

The Salvation Army needs you ... and your family, friends, business, club or church.
Beginning Friday, the familiar red kettles that spell hope for so many people at Christmas will be in their usual locations. Those scheduled to be at the Wal-Marts in Goldsboro and the one in Mount Olive will be manned beginning Wednesday.
While some volunteers are set to ring the bell, more are needed, says Major Andrew Wiley.
The kettles will be manned every day except Sundays through Christmas Eve, with normal operation hours being 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Quitting time on Christmas Eve will be earlier than 9.
In addition to the Wal-Marts, kettle locations will be inside Berkeley Mall in front of JCPenney, at Goody's, Sam's Club, Kmart, Michaels and on Saturdays at Big Lots.
The Salvation Army relies on money raised through the kettle drive to help the poor at Christmas and during the winter. Any time it can't find a volunteer to man a kettle, it must hire someone.
Wiley says that volunteers can come up with enough people to be at a kettle for an entire day or they can take one of three shifts: 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., 1 until 5 p.m. or 5 until 9 p.m.
