EUREKA -- Three write-in candidates, including two newcomers, will serve on the Eureka Town Board.
The town of about 250 people traditionally elects its leaders by write-in ballot.
Incumbent town commissioner Myrtie Sauls received 24 write-in votes, the most of any candidate.
"We're going to try to finish up the work on the sewer system here, and then we can think about rehabilitation of the sewer," she said. "There are other projects around town that we can take a look at but this (sewer) has been capturing most of our attention."
Newcomer Doug Booth got 18 write-in votes.
Jose DeJesus garnered 16 write-in votes. When told of the election result, DeJesus said, he was happy.
"Oh, it's a good feeling," DeJesus said.
